Marketing
The Key to Business Success
Marketing is one of the most important activities needed for business success. It is a crucial process that helps us understand the needs of customers, what they are looking for, and how to deliver or promote products or services while valuing people's wishes.
In today's creative, technological, hectic, and competitive world, having a good product alone is not really enough. Good marketing and strategies are also very important. Giving people what they need and are looking for helps a business grow and increases its profit too.
For Example:
You have opened a company that sells logo T-shirts. They are affordable, have good fabric, and different sizes are also available. But what if people don't know that something like this even exists in the market? Or even if they know, they are still not interested in buying those T-shirts.
Suppose they also provide online shopping, comfortable options, flexible returns, and many other things, but still they are not able to attract people towards their product. This is taking their business towards loss instead of profit. They are not able to generate traffic.
So, in that case, they make an announcement or sale where, for the upcoming 10 days, they will give free tea and coffee if you visit them by wearing their company's printed T-shirts.
More people, influencers, and others started gathering and buying those company's T-shirts. Not only were those company's T-shirts sold, but their other products also started getting sold quickly. Their shares also rose. The company became famous, company products came in demand, and they also started earning profit.
So basically, this tells us a very simple thing:
Good product = profit.
Good product + good marketing = profit.
So, in short, providing people what we want to or what we have is not a good idea. Making them realise what they actually want is important. When we understand what people actually want, this realisation is something which is helpful for a company's growth. This also builds trust.
This helps us, as businesses, understand our customers through surveys, feedback, market research, etc. This creates awareness. Even an excellent product is actually a waste without appropriate marketing.
Advertising through television, newspapers, social media, websites, or through some indirect ways helps businesses introduce their products to a larger audience and gain their trust and loyalty.
This not only makes a company's product a brand but also helps build a strong brand. With consistent little efforts, a brand can create recognition and trust among customers.
Some examples are Samsung smartphones, YSL products, Gucci, Apple, Microsoft, Mercedes-Benz, Nike, Toyota, Google, and many more.
The 4 Ps of Marketing
Product, Price, Place & Promotion.
So, at last, marketing is much more important than simple advertising or product selling, which helps achieve long-term growth.
